Key Informant Survey

The Key Informant Survey was a mail survey of Vigo and Sullivan counties’ community leaders, which asked about the assets and needs of their communities. Again, the data was shared with the other six counties to see how well the responses apply to those counties. Key Informants are people in the community, by virtue of the positions they hold either as part of their paid occupations or by their volunteer efforts, who should be able to evaluate the needs of the community.

About the Key Informant Survey:

  • 610 key informants in Vigo and Sullivan counties were identified and sent questionnaires
  • 360 responded, or 59%, much higher than the typical 20-30%
  • Key informants see more weaknesses in the community than strengths.
