The Community Visioning Process began
once the surveys and asset inventory data were collected and analyzed
by the COMPASS II Community Partnership.
About the Community Visioning Process:
- A vision statement was the result of not
only the Visioning Workshops but also from feedback from focus
groups and “Road Shows” conducted in all eight counties
in February, 2003.
- The Compass Community Partnership invited
participants from the eight Wabash Valley counties to attend Visioning
Workshops.
- Approximately 80 people participated from
all eight counties.
- Six small groups were led by expert problem-solving
facilitators.
- The goal of the workshops was to develop
the elements of a strategic vision for the eight-county region.
The outcomes of the Community Visioning Process
workshops were sets of values and a vision statement.
As a community, we value the following:
- Progress
- Education
- Economic Success
- Leadership
- Exceptional Quality of Life
