Terre Haute – The first annual Steve Weatherford's "Rush the Punter" 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run will take place on Saturday, April 28 from the Vigo County School Corporation Building in downtown Terre Haute, IN.
"Steve is proving once again that he gives back and cares about his hometown. We are very excited to be partnering with Steve and the Vigo County School Corporation to help raise money for our early childhood education program - Success by 6. A program that helps thousands of children in the Wabash Valley every year," Troy Fears, United Way Executive Director stated.

From the Tribune Star - TERRE HAUTE — It would be foolish in any community to take "positives" for granted, but it's easy to understand how a casual observer would assume that United Way of the Wabash Valley will always come through with flying colors.
Even in the tough economic times of recent years, when ultimate goals were missed more than hit, the local United Way's fundraising machine has performed above and beyond expectations.

From Tribune Star - TERRE HAUTE — For a second year in a row, the United Way of the Wabash Valley reached its annual campaign goal.
United Way officials announced Monday night at the organization's annual meeting that $1,854,607 was raised for the 2011 campaign, which ended with United Day for United Way on Jan. 20.
Streamers floated from the ceiling of Hulman Center as soon as 2011 campaign chairwoman Bernice Helman announced the goal of $1.85 million had been surpassed.

The Wabash Valley Women of Influence is a new prong to the Women's Professional Group, a seat to the UWWV Campaign Cabinet. The event will pair well with the long established Power of the Purse event which is held annually in October.

Are you ready for a rooftop reunion? Bernice Helman, United Way Campaign Chair, Rick Burger, Board Member, Gary Morris, Marla Flowers and Tim Sturgess, former United Way Campaign Chairs, and Troy Fears, Executive Director will be on the roof of Baesler's for United Day for United Way on Friday, January 20th. They will be on the roof for 12 hours in an effort to reach our campaign goal of $1.85 million.
Last year with the support of the community our United Way was able to make a big push towards attaining our campaign goal with "United Day for United Way." All of the local radio, TV stations, outdoor media, businesses, restaurants and print media joined together to weather the elements and make our campaign a little brighter. This year we hope to make "United Day for the United Way" even better with your support.
"United Day for United Way" is the final push of United Way of the Wabash Valley's fundraising campaign on Friday, January 20, 2011 from 7 AM to 7 PM.
Goal for United Day for United Way is to raise $25,000.
