Volunteer - Days of Caring

What is Days of Caring?

Days of Caring is an incredible volunteer event sponsored by the United Way of the Wabash Valley that provides an avenue:

  • For donors to see where their contributions are going
  • To demonstrate how an agency's programs affect people's lives
  • To provide volunteer opportunities for community impact
  • For "Building A Caring Community" through collaborative efforts

The primary objectives for Days of Caring are connecting donors and/or potential donors with not-for-profit agencies and getting needed projects done for the agencies, for the donors as volunteers to see the services provided by the agencies and have a better understanding of their need for volunteers.

The United Way of the Wabash Valley began hosting Days of Caring in 1997.  Our theme is "Building a Caring Community." We believe that when volunteers are able to see the services our agencies and other organizations are providing, they are moved to a level of compassion through a monetary donation, as well as a desire to donate their time and talents.

We invite our businesses and other constituents to participate in the recruitment of volunteers to provide hands-on experience in completing projects that have been provided by the agencies that have been invited to participate through providing a project or activity.  This circle of involvement creates the momentum to "Build a Caring Community."

The 2008 Days of Caring will be held on Friday and Saturday, September 12-13.
